Dave Rawlings Machine live at Louisville's Brown Theatre

Louisville's Brown Theatre was blessed tonight to have hosted the likes of tenured producer and studio musician Dave Rawlings, accompanied by alt-country darling Gillian Welch, former Old Crow Medicine Show guitarist Willie Watson and Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones on mandolin. Billed the "Dave Rawlings Machine", the band effortlessly plowed through an array of folk standards and originals from the diverse and eclectic portfolio between the group's constituents.

At the height of the show, Mr Rawlings expressed an especially endearing sentiment through ad libbed lyrics to the patriotic standard "This Land Is Your Land":

"As I went walking/I saw a sign that/said no trespassing/but when I looked on the other side/it said nothing at all."
